How many UTA fans were there?
How many UTA fans were there?
No mention of this game in today's News Star.
It is also thier semester break. The dorms are closed.
Very good win - tough win
Very inconsistent officiating on both sides
UTA makes you play down with their clutching and grabbing
They have a FABULOUS FACILITY and CONCESSIONS! A PLUS operation

Anybody know what kind of actual average attendance UTA has for home games ?? Crowd looked really sparse on the broadcast.
Edit: Here is an article on the subject: http://www.theshorthorn.com/news/cam...a4bcf6878.html
Quick count in our section we had about 15 rows that were all TECH fans with about 8 to 12 on a row then you had numerous smaller groups around the arena...
A good guess would be in the neighborhood of 200 Tech folks - very good showing

The TECH crowd was a mixtures of fans who attend most home games and those from the area who came to watch the DAWGS. A very good turnout by both groups.
It was not a good game for our starting 5 but the bench brought us back and got the win. This is an exciting team to watch for many reasons but last night our bench strength was apparent. The bench played less than the starters but scored 69% of the points and got more rebounds.

This was a fun game to watch. I drove over from Ruston with my wife and daughter. When I found out tickets were only $5, I treated every relative I had in Dallas to their first Tech basketball game. They had a great time and want to go anytime we come back, including the the Army game at the Cotton Bowl. I expect our group from the Dallas area to grow to about 20 by then. This is a great market for Tech to be playing in. The recruiting opportunities are HUGE! The population of the Dallas area is about 5 or 6 times more than the whole state of Louisiana! We need to put more focus on Dallas than Shreveport for all sports....especially football & basketball.
It is bigger, but not nearly as big as you stated.
The 2011 official estimate U.S. Census has the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex at 6,526,548. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dallas–...orth_metroplex
Lousiana's 2011 population is approximately 4,574,836. http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/22000.html
