We have conducted several auctions on our athletic site. Most have few to no bids.
It can work. I'd recommend a live auction. You could do them after games, before games, and at events like the signing day luncheon. The mudbugs hockey team used to have special jerseys all the time and they would auction them off after games and at season ticket holder events. They usually went for $500-1200/jersey...for a AA hockey team.
I would love to do this. Most of the auctions are for away games. I would love to add to my helmet collection.
I haven't received a Tech email touting an auction in awhile. But there are tempting items, but mostly out of this retiree's budget. Do people still post Tech stuff on that internet auction site, what's it called?
Thank you for beating OU, Johnny Football!
Another thing I've seen at saints games they'll have silent auctions.....before the game you can walk by a table where they have items setup and you write down your name, phone number, and bid amount.
As much as it pains me to use this example:

There are two auctions on the link posted earlier.
The silent auctions are great! Seen them at LSU and M-Braves games before... Really neat stuff usually on the tables.
I have bought/won two game-worn jersies via LaTech website auctions - one blue and one white. Been waiting on them to auction a red one.
Jordan Mills on choosing Tech:
“It’s a great experience seeing them play. It was a good atmosphere. The fans stood up the whole game and never sat down. They have a great fan base.”
