Big East buyout question

I probably missed this in one of the Boise or SDSt threads, but I do remember reading about them having to pay a huge buyout for staying in the MWC. Wouldn't there be a way they could get out of having to pay the fee on the grounds that the Big East has fundamentally changed because of all the defections and is no longer the conference they agreed to join? Or did the Big East include the possibility that there might be school changes?

I believe that Boise had to pay $5 Million, which the MWC agreed to help pay if they returned. However, SDSU had a clause in their contract that said they could leave without penalty if Boise left first.

Straydawg is correct. It's likely that Boise won't have to pay the full five million, though.
