It's not funny. It's really sad that our media doesn't seem to care.
None of the info from any of those newspapers is coming from the C-USA office. It's primarily coming from athletic directors from the individual schools.
Although we don't have a beat writer that only covers Tech 100% of the time, we do have 5 writers from 3 newspapers, 11 sports reporters from 5 tv stations, and 3 daily sports talk radio shows that do cover Tech part-time. It's not like Grambling has anything worth covering right now. If any of them were interested, they could have interviewed BVDV about our conference situation and the future of C-USA.
It's also dumb on their part to be disinterested. If they publish anything on conference realignment, it will get retweeted numerous times and posted on message boards across the country. It would probably get viewed more than anything else they publish in a single day. A large number of website hits should produce revenue for each news outlet.

From a Marshall writer for the Charleston newspaper:

Look for the new C-USA divisions to be determined formally by the end of conference AD meetings tomorrow.

Conference USA opponents for LA Tech and east west divisional lineups will be announced on Wednesday. Good news.
Lots of TV talk. C-USA's primary carriers are FOX and CBS Sports. Numerous TV opportunities.

If we play Tulane this year, winning won't be enough for me.
The ADs voted unanimously to allow Old Dominion to compete for the C-USA football title in 2014. If they win the east division in 2014, ODU would get to play in the C-USA Championship Game, but they cannot be bowl eligible until 2015.

This is parlayed with a $2 million entry fee in Conference USA, which will be siphoned from a Conference USA annual payouts.
I think we already knew this. The C-USA entrance fee is $2 million, and it's deducted from each school's conference distribution.
If I recall correctly, the entrance fee will be deducted from out payout over a 3-year period. Not sure.

“MTSU will quickly recoup the money through higher returns from revenue sharing in C-USA,” McPhee said in a statement.
