Alumni needs your prayers/thoughs tonight

A Louisiana Tech alumni (sometime in the late 1960s or early 70s) needs our prayers tonight.

Barry Vowell, former band director at Bossier High School(late 70s(?)-1997), Airline High School(1997-2008(9?)), and 26 year Veteran of the 156th Army Band, is in ICU fighting for his life.

I don't really have any details of what exactly is ailing him, but he has history of heart problems.

He was my band director at Airline ('99-'03). He was such an inspiration and mentor to so many as young adults and as young musicians. He definitely had an impact on my (then) future as a musician and as a young man.


If you are of the praying variety, the old stubborn guy sure could use a few.

Mr. Vowell passed away early this morning. His family decided to take him off of life support yesterday afternoon, and he lasted until the morning.
