Your missing the point. One time, 10 years ago, he won a NCAA game after winning the Southland tournament. Does life get better? I submit that it cannot.
Yea yea yea I know how many NCAAs has Tech gone to blah blah blah. Still would rather Mike White and (so far) Konkol. Based on what I have seen from NSU, McConathy would have Richard like results at Tech.
I think McConathy would of had us back to where we are now long ago if he would of been chosen over Woolridge and Rupp - basically had the job over Rupp until Karl stepped in...
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
But you do have to give Rupp credit for getting us out of the APR mess that Keith Richard left us in. IIRC Keith Richard cost Rupp 2 scholarships for Rupp's 1st 2 seasons and 1 scholarship his last 2 seasons. Then there was reduced practice time and maybe more. Our local media conveniently ignore this because it doesn't fit their script. Yes, Rupp was a bad fit, but he inherited Richard's APR mess and got us our scholarships back for Coach White.

It's funny how Keith Richard inherited the "death penalty" at ULM according to some and is praised for digging them out of it. Yet he left Tech (Rupp) in the exact same situation that he inherited at the JUCO. That's karma. But nobody says Rupp inherited the "death penalty" from Richard.
