Don't forget about: Louisiana Tech
The Bulldogs are one of just four teams nationally who are unbeaten in conference play (Gonzaga, Memphis and Norfolk State are the others) and can complete a perfect regular season in Western Athletic Conference play if they can sweep New Mexico State and Denver on the road this week. Raheem Appleby is the only player averaging more than nine points for the balanced Bulldogs, who have six guys averaging at least 6.6 points. Louisiana Tech played only one top-50 opponent all season (a 10-point defeat of Southern Mississippi), so it is particularly tested. But with a gaudy 26-3 record, the Bulldogs won't be overlooked if they wind up in the tournament field.

Louisiana Tech [24-3 (14-0), RPI: 51, SOS: 265] In an "Others" category long on good mid-majors with a whole mess of blah wins, Louisiana Tech might just take the cake. They also took a Top-25 Associated Press ranking for the first time in forever this week. Unfortunately, that means little as it pertains to the bubble, but the added exposure can't hurt. I still say win the conference tournament, but that's my advice for everyone.

Louisiana Tech (25-3 | 16-0) | RPI: 50 | SOS: 251 | – Even with a high volume of wins, the Bulldogs’ at-large chances are still questionable. The good news is this: a few of their victories have improved from an RPI standpoint, leaving Tech with a 5-2 mark vs. Top 100 teams. Of those, the best is Southern Miss, and none are against projected NCAA teams. An overall strength of schedule ranked above 250 suggests that an at-large bid is unlikely. Fair or unfair, Tech has played just one game against Top 50 teams (So. Miss). They are 18-1 against teams ranked 150 or below.

OK, here we go. At New Mexico State on Thursday. At Denver on Saturday. If they get both, this starts to become intriguing.

StatJunkie's latest at-large probability for La Tech is 68.85%, which would make us a projected at-large bubble team that gets into the tournament.

I love March Madness! Championship week, all the conference tournies are, in some ways, even better than the Dance itself. Win and you're in! That's particularly true of the "lesser" conferences. I don't watch the ACC Tourney anymore. Can't stand all that crap about some team, say...Maryland(just to use a name)...with an under .500 conference mark, barely over .500 overall, and the anal-ysts saying, well, if the Terps can win at least one game in the ACC Tourney that should get them in the Dance. BS!

Give me the Cleveland States, the Valparisos, the Weber States, etc of the world. Love seeing the genuine thrill of those kids, and their fans, when programs like that (like us!) earn that auto-bid.

Villanova and Iowa State each picked up a big win over a ranked opponent.

Maryland lost at home to North Carolina.

Finally got some love from the Shreveport Times. Roy Lang III said "Louisiana Tech In A Class All It's Own". He also pointed out that Tech is the only non-BCS school to have both its football & bbasketball teams break into the top 25 in the 2012-2013 year.

Akron's bubble has likely burst...lost at home to Kent State after starting PG Alex Abreu was arrested on drug trafficking and possession charges earlier this week.

Zips need to win the MAC Tournament to be assured of a bid with their RPI down to 53 today.
