So Conference USA rowing has five Big 12 members and two C*USA members? Wild.

Yeah, I was always sorry we didn't field a men's soccer team because it would have meant we'd be conference-mates of South Carolina and Kentucky, which would be pretty cool.
University of Houston '01. Any references to "we" or "us" likely refer to UH. Cheers!

My daughter was on the rowing team at UT and it was a blast to go to the meets, mostly in Austin but also including ones at N'western (yes NSU), Harvard, & Tennessee! It is too bad that Lake Reneau isn't longer or we could have a great spot for a crew!

So Reneau Pond is not quite long enough for a rowing team, huh?:icon_wink:

For them to do a 10k race (the longest they did in the fall schedule) it would need to be at least 3 miles long and wide enough for 8 boats to turn around at the end! They also rowed a marathon in Boston down the Charles with no turnaround (26.2 miles)!!!!!! That is rowing to Arcadia and back! The UT team came in 2nd on that one when my daughter was on the crew, the highest they ever placed on that event!

The team (crew) all got up and ran to Town Lake every morning from campus at 6:00 am for practice until 8:00 - that would be tough to do at Darbonne or Claiborne for that matter! Maybe when we take over LSU-s (emphasis on the small 's') we could have that team based at our west campus and row the Red!!!!
