NIT Bracket Project
NIT Auto Bids
29. Middle Tennessee (Sun Belt) <= NCAA bubble
54. Louisiana Tech (WAC)
65. Stephen F. Austin (Southland)
81. Stony Brook (America East)
114. Long Beach State (Big West)
124. Niagara (MAAC)
132. Robert Morris (NEC)
137. Mercer (A-Sun)
160. Northeastern (CAA)
178. Norfolk State (MEAC)
189. Charleston Southern (Big South)
There will be either 21 or 22 NIT at-large bids depending on whether or not Middle Tennessee receives an NCAA bid.
Must be directly related to the NCAA running the NIT now or something that happened in 2009. But with 3 of the 8 NIT second round games not until next Monday (plus two others on Sunday), I still can't believe Kentucky would be on the road in the second round if it is a top 2 seed in its NIT region with the NCAA being finished at Rupp on Saturday unless there is an additional arena conflict. The arena website doesn't list anything else until mid-April after Saturday's NCAA games.

I can see Air Force (15-13 D-I) and Northern Iowa (17-14 D-I) being left out and Florida State and LSU being in.
8:00-8:30 on E$PNU.
What's the criteria for saying certain teams should be left out of the NIT?

Absolute travesty....unjustified to make Tech lower than a #3 seed. Even more so with Denver in a #3 seed spot.
Plus one of the 5 non-televised games...huge slap in the face.
#5 is not good, but it is what we got
