KMR got out coached. And as historically usual WBB refs are still terrible and biased.

Horrible officiating..she want be fined
It amazes me how poor the officiating still is in WBB. It's been an absolute joke for decades not to mention the bias laced portion of their pitiful work. You would think the "powers that be" at the top would have demanded more. But maybe they like it this way and are in control. Hum....Then again, why are the major news reporting businesses, reporters and owners as well as cable companies so poor at their trade and biased as well. Hum......
The "David vs Goliath" aspect of this game is what tickled me. This board usually roots for underdogs against the so-called AQ'$ big names.
Baylor was the anointed one with the coronation scheduled!! Might as well have had a 63 team tournament without Baylor to see what one team had the "honor" of losing to Baylor. Somebody forgot to mail Louisville the schedule. Regardless of who the coach is this type MONUMENTAL UPSET is cool!!! On the guys side there was 8th seed Villanova stunning anointed Georgetown in 1985 and equally stunning 6th seed NC State with Jim Valvano stunning anointed Houston in 1983, probably the two biggest men's MONUMENTAL UPSETS. Regardless of our history with KMR (I wish we'd managed to keep her) THIS IS JUST COOL. Why even Maddawg may remember it!
I still wish Reneau would've given Mulkey the 5 year contract when we had the chance
A big part of it is the way they pick refs. Clay Kallam has made the suggestion that all NCAA refs should be in one pool and they should pick the best ones for the men's and women's tourneys. Instead, the system tends to force the advancement of women refs for the women's game. It's not that women are necessarily worse refs, some are good, but there aren't nearly as many of them, and if you're forcing some to the top, they won't necessarily be as good. Kallam's suggestion would mean that sometimes you'd get a woman or two doing the men's games (because they've proven themselves) but you'd also get better overall officiating for both sides.
I do find it ironic that the type of horrible officiating has changed. I was remembering the other horrible Easter loss in my life yesterday -- Smith's shot in 1994. That game was terribly officiated because the officials called WAY too much incidental contact as fouls. Yesterday, you had the opposite. Physical abuse being meted out and uncalled. If June Carteau had called yesterday's game, it would have finished as a 3 on 3 matchup.
I totally agree. Griner was getting mugged and it wasn't called. Louisville would have run out of players if they had called all the fouls. They also missed a player getting in Griner's face that should have been a technical- and later did a double T as a make-up call. Louisville played as they were allowed to though, and pulled out an impressive win. If the refs. had been worth anything though, the game may have been much different- but the 16 3's were fun to watch and I was excited to see them win.
The charge call KM got so ticked off about was not nearly as bad as the one which benefitted her team just a couple of game minutes earlier as Baylor made a run to get back in the game.
The whole thing was kind of comic.

your high, apparently you missed where Griner got slung to the floor on three or four different occasions and where she was hit in the face on as many more.
The only fault I find in Griner is that she didn't hit them the same way they were hitting her oh wait she tried and they called a foul on her.
BS on trying to keep Baylor in the game if the REFS would have done their jobs there would have been 25 fouls called on Louisville before the 10 minute mark BUUUUTTTTT Baylor never has to worry about that crap from those three people in the future they will NEVER officiate another game that Mulkey has a team involved in.
I doubt Nick Saban gets to pick his refs.
