"1982 Lady Techsters vs. Cheney (most watched NCAA WBB game of all-time)"
To be absolutely fair...there were only like 4 channels back then. And "Yes" my family was one of the ones watching that game.
Yes, those WBB Final Four games in the 1980s were played on a broadcast network (CBS). Those WBB games were moved to a cable network (ESPN) in the 1990s.
The 1990 Independence Bowl may be the only time our football team has every played on a broadcast network (ABC). Maybe not. But that's why this Heart of Dallas Classic will be huge if it is televised by a broadcast network (FOX).
FWIW the college division playoff games were on "network", over-the-air, bigtime TV stations.

Tech football bowl games as far back as the Bradshaw era were on network TV. And I am pretty sure that the 1990 Independence Bowl was televised on a syndicated network (Mizlou maybe), not on one of the four national networks. I could not find the game on TV where I was that weekend in 1990.
I got that TV info about the 1990 Indy Bowl from Wikipedia, and it does look like it is wrong. After searching for highlights on YouTube, it looks like it was played on Mizlou.
My point still remains. More people watched those Lady Techster games than certainly any Tech football game in my lifetime and possibly any Tech football game all-time. Those other times that our football team played on broadcast TV were before I was born, and we weren't even Division I when Bradshaw played. Those games happened so long ago I can't find any info on them regarding TV. That's why the Heart of Dallas Classic presents a tremendous opportunity to showcase Louisiana Tech football if it is played on FOX as rumored.

I didn't say those football games weren't played on broadcast TV. I believe you, and I acknowledged that in my previous post.
My point was to show that people do watch women's basketball as evidenced by the Neilsen ratings and also to show the tremendous national exposure WBB brought to Louisiana Tech. All of these unwarranted jabs at WBB aren't necessary.
My other point was that this Heart of Dallas Classic potentially presents a tremendous opportunity for our football program that hasn't been seen since Louisiana Tech started playing major college football.
Didn't say it was great, well for one thing we were ROBBED! The officials started the clock late!
