It's a fine topic for discussion. The first thing that popped in my mind was why he needed the SEC when he had the ACC connections. He set things up for another weak sked by choosing to talk about the SEC thing. If he is gonna sell tickets (also part of his job discription) he won't do it with those kind of speeches.
I assume he prefers to schedule the $EC and Big 12 because we can bus to most $EC and Big 12 venues.
A couple months or so ago Coach White hinted that we were working on a deal with Duke, but our SID wouldn't announce it until the appropriate time. More recently somebody posted on here about us not playing Duke as a guarantee game but playing in a tournament with Duke. At Tech & Tails, Coach White stated that we'll play two money games next season. One will be played at Oklahoma, and he's looking for another one since Alabama canceled. This lends credence to the Duke tournament rumor. We'll see if it materializes.
I was a little disappointed that ticket sales weren't added in to the list of incentives in his new contract. I think ticket sales should be included as an incentive for our football, basketball, and baseball coaches.
I did a little digging.
Earlier this week it was leaked that Duke will host three teams for the NIT Season Tip-Off in November.
I think we will play our first round game at Cameron Indoor Stadium but not against Duke.
If we win our first round game, then we'd likely play Duke for a chance to advance to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden.
LaTech in the NIT Season Tip-Off is consistent with the Duke speculation.
Alabama, Arizona, and Rutgers are the other three NIT Season Tip-Off hosts.
Earlier this week? I thought the Dukie thing had been out for more than a month.

Duke hosting the first two rounds of the NIT Season Tip-Off was first reported by a Duke media outlet on Monday, April 29. I found an Alabama source that leaked it on Friday, April 26. Only the four hosts were leaked. The other twelve teams haven't been revealed yet.
