My irritation is the apathy of our alumn , why can we not get of alumn to support the project

We've had this discussion a few times. It would really help if administration and the athletic deparment actually initiate some kind of marketing effort. Go after the "small" donors. I fall into that category, and have given when I can, but I've never been directly contacted from anyone in the athletic department for anything other than season tickets. I can only assume it's the same for most all of Tech alums, most of which don't share the same passion for Tech as we all do. That said, it's no wonder why support and attention for this project hasn't increased. Too many of our alums simply don't know what's going on or what's being planned. It starts at the top, and there's zero effort coming from there. I'm not laying any of the blame on our alumni/donor base until I see some directed effort coming from the ones who are supposed to be making this happen.

THIS ^ is the problem. I have been biting my tongue for so long on this project and all the bashing of our admin. They certainly have to shoulder a lot of the blame, BUT, when we are only able to raise what, $13 MM and most of that from probably a handful of donors, it indicates the weakness of our base to be willing to contribute. You can't spin it any other way. We're a socialist fan base. We seem to be willing to accept just as much as our "big money" guys can support and then we @#$%! about what we get. In Margaret Thatcher's words, "Eventually, you run out of other people's money."

I think that when Tech get its new president you will see a greater focus on athletics. ULL had a president for 30 years who did not support athletics. Dr. Savoy does and it makes a difference. Tech's project will get built. They may be waiting for new blood to push it along.

There are many of us, myself included who are doing all we can with 2 kids, 2 car notes, and a house note. An LTAC membership is all I got.

I'm in the same boat. 2 kids, one on the way. LTAC and Football Tix were conditions of marriage for me. I'm just saying that there are only maybe 1350 LTAC members when there should be 6000.

ULL's fans don't give any more than Tech's fans. When they built their practice facility, they were asking the contractors for freebies because they didn't have the money to build what they originally wanted and ended up having to scale back because they didn't have what they said they did. This was told to me by a ULL graduate who works for the contractor. I doubt very seriously this will get built or that they will get anywhere close. They looked to see what they thought got us the CUSA invite and copied it. The first step was to come up with a facilities plan.

Motivation = Value + Confidence.

Many may value it, many more don't have confidence in it right now. Does that sound like a possible issue?

People will not give with out a plan for the bricks and mortar - no formal plans have been presented and no formal push has been made to the average alumni -

Exactly. There has been no real effort made.

Our fans were never contacted to donate to this project. The only fundraising done for Q4E was contacting big money folks and implementing a student fee. The failure of this project does not reflect anything on our fan base.

I also don't believe a lack of funds is the reason this project is dragging. We have the student fee to pay off what we didn't raise from big donors. We've had enough funds in hand to proceed with the project for some time.

I think the delay comes from a few issues:
1) Dan Reneau and maybe other admin.
2) Being forced to re-design the project due to the utility lines in the hill and maybe other physical constraints.
3) Possibly a poor job done by Populous.
