Should have guessed it I suppose, but shocked at the number of non-FBS schools spending more, in some cases much more, than us.

We do OK in generating funds (still needs to be better). The other teams just destroy us in student fees.

Here's the CUSA list of self-generated funds:

    1. North Texas: 18 Million
    2. Southern Miss: 14 Million
    3. Marshall: 13 Million
    4. UTEP: 12 Million
    5. La Tech: 9 Million
    6. ODU: 8 Million
    6. UAB: 8 Million
    8. MTSU: 7 Million
    8. WKU: 7 Million
    8. UTSA: 7 Million
    11. FIU: 6 Million
    11. FAU: 6 Million
    13. UNCC: 2 Million

Rice is private, so not listed.

I would think that our travel expenses will go down but those funds will be directed elsewhere for next year. Also our conference payout will go up being in CUSA but will probably be eaten up by entrance fees. TV should also be up for next year. Conversely, ull should have a significant increase in travel costs.

That number is not correct for North Texas. UNT had just over $19 million in total revenues, and half came from student fees.

I'm no whiz at determining the athletic budgets and how they work, but I'm impressed most by how ULM's revenues (Mainly their contributions) DECREASED during their only bowl year to date.

As we've tried to explain to various trolls for years, you've got to be really careful with these kinds of simplistic numbers.

This guy acknowledges that while they all use different accounting techniques, they all accomplish the same basic thing: Spending every new dime they bring in.

Needs to be a standardized accounting formula for reporting athletic revenues and expendatures.

This is as standardized as it going to get using the current NCAA methodology and definitions. Only EE doesn't agree with how a university's subsidy includes student fee revenues.

And these are 2011-2012 figures from the AUP reports that were due January 15, so this is not for a ULM bowl year.
