I like Dallas. We have alumns there to show up. Plus, other school can easily travel there going to DFW or Love Field.

Booking American Airlines arena would be difficult, but I think Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco would be great. It's next to a huge mall.

No brainer since C-USA has 14 teams and does not look to be expanding.

Frisco has increased their hotel numbers significantly in the last couple of years, and you could host your basketball, and potentially the baseball tournament right next door.

Next season there will be 16 basketball teams. That's what they are discussing.

Unless a TV network is willing to pay extra to televise a full extra day of the tournament, stick to 12. And the women's tournament should be at 12 since there is no way more than that is financially viable.

Looking around other schools in CUSA, a lot of them have alumni chapters in the DFW area. I bet it would bring in a pretty big tournament crowd.

I think San Antonio would be great place for the tournament and you could try and get the AT&T Center

San Antonio does not work very well logistically. You have the Rodeo in San Antonio at the end of February and then battle the Spurs to cram in many of their home games early in March.

I know the mayor and city manager, and this is the kind of thing they love. The city is always looking for ways to utilize their sports facilities. They have hosted the last two FCS championships at FC Dallas's stadium, and people that have gone said it was a fun experience. That game has involved North Dakota, so with all the CUSA alumni here, it would be an awesome atmosphere.

Of all the C-USA home cities, San Antonio would be the absolute worst host city for the C-USA basketball tournament. Attendance would be next to nothing. If we played it at the AT&T Center, it would look like a Tulane football game.

The optimal neutral site location would be in Nashville. The basketball schools are concentrated in the East. C-USA could use the Nashville Municipal Auditorium as the primary site and another local arena for the first two rounds of the women's tournament.

I like Houston and Dallas (even though the Big XII could go back to Dallas at some point). I kind of like Orlando even though I do believe if you go to Florida then you should find a beach city such as Miami, Tampa, or Jacksonville.
    This -

I also want a small arena - less than 10K

Intimate setting - civic center convo center something along those lines -

Warm weather and centrally located -

Gulf coast region would be my personal preference

    Make it a destination point

I really don't think this is true, especially with UTSA coming in next year. Also SA is a major airport with pretty cheap flights. Rodeo is in Hemisphere arena, Spurs are in AT&T, I would push to get it in the Alamo Dome; closer to downtown and off of 281 straight shot from Airport.

    Re: C-USA Spring Meetings

I just don't see anywhere in Florida or Texas (other than El Paso) as a viable option for the C-USA basketball tournament.

Texas and Florida are home to the C-USA cellar dwellers with little support for basketball, and they are already home to C-USA bowl games.

Nashville would be a slam dunk for the C-USA basketball tournament.

I was about to say that. It'll have a cavernous feel to it. It'll be difficult to fill a 18.5k capacity arena.

For selfish reason, I would love it in the Big D. I don't care about the eastern CUSA schools, the CUSA world should revolve around Tech!

Regarding Nashville, SEC will come back in '15 and '16

2014 SEC Basketball Tournament – March 13-16 Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Ga.
2015 SEC Basketball Tournament – March 12-15 Bridgestone Arena, Nashville
2016 SEC Basketball Tournament- March 10-13 Bridgestone Arena, Nashville
