Exactly. That's one of the dumbest things a coach could ever say. Sim and Spoon are basically telling everybody that they are clueless.
Just go ahead and fire him
...or kick him upstairs to be Asst AD in charge of fund-raising for all sports except for football and men's/women's basketball. If he has to be paid for another year, make him earn it doing something that he obviously does better than coaching baseball.
It's hard to believe but I think they will keep this guy. Proves that they don't care about baseball. Unbelievable.

BVDV's input was unnecessary. He cares nothing about the baseball program. Sim refusing to take the blame. More of the same.
Is Les Guice allowed to fire Simoneaux or would he have to wait for July 1?
I don't know. I figure Dr. Guice will want his new AD to be a part of the new baseball coach selection. Most every Tech fan, which Sim and BVDV are not, wants both hires to happen yesterday. Only a few more weeks...

Simoneaux's coaching career record of failure is 282-335-1 (.457) in 11 seasons. The 9-year record that received an unearned contract extension through 2014 was 236-270-1 (.466). Simoneaux has gone 46-65 (.414) under the extension...clearly a record that deserves a change of employment status.
