Ouachita Parish Highschool. One of the bigger talent rich schools in NELA.

Wow!! He is the HC at Ouachita Parish High school. Got into a huge pissing contest with Coach Chows over that 4 Star OL that transferred to WM. It got Chows suspended for a couple of games. He has put a ton of D1 talent out there over the past few years and is an excellent coach. He always seemed to fall just short of a championship though. I think Monken has hired him to recruit NELA better which is bad for us.

Good Luck to John. While he might recruit N La, he was hired as a coach not as ace recruiter. "Director of Football Operations" covers a lot of territory.
I'll take Tim Rattay over him in a standoff.
I agree MD, but you can see we're Monken is going though.
Monken is a great closer. John is a great guy, but not a proven closer. He couldn't even keep his best player at Ouachita. I'm not sweating us going up against him in NLa. Monken is another story.
John Simon, John Carr, Petey Perot. Who says Monken wasn't bitter about not getting the Tech job?
We should have been bitter when he stole some of our recruits he was recruiting for us as he headed to OKState years ago. He might be a friend of some of our posters but it's not the first time he's messed with Louisiana Tech.

Who did Monken "steal" from LA Tech, and did they ever really play any football at OSU???
John is the son of Tech great Roger Carr and played at Tech in the early 90's I believe.
When he was WR and Golf coach at West Monroe around 2001 he was well known for allegedly pulling "Roy D. Mercer" calls on the coaching staffs they'd be facing later on in the week. Good guy.
Ive always liked him. It was a good hire by Monken.
Yes, there were a number of good skill position guys that I remember that started for them. It was a rather hot topic on our Recruiting Forum when he left TECH years ago. Of course you weren't a paying member back then I would assume.........:icon_wink:
