Pence is too socially conservative to win. Christians are going to have to accept that the nation is morally bankrupt and they don't like Christianity very much anymore. We lost the social issues, can't lose the nation now.

That's why I didn't like him, but if you think about it, does Israel really need America? We know their future ends very well!

The two groups that the GOP needs to make inroads with are incredibly socially conservative in African Americans and Latinos. Whoever picks up the mantle for conservatism will be able to communicate well with these two groups.

As it stands now, the GOP has totally written off these two groups.

They reject social conservatism too. They believe Democrats are morally good, despite the agenda and Republicans are evil, despite the agenda. How can you make inroads with no trust?

Mia Love, Nikki Haley, Tim Scott would all make a lot of sense.

Depending on how badly Trump is beaten, it make be folks like Mike Lee and Ben Sasse. Cruz could've been the elder statesmen of #NeverTrump, but he caved at the absolute dumbest time. I think he's done.

They should know who pushed gay marriage and abortion agendas. They choose to support that because they are being told Republicans want to murder them.

Nope...the dems outworked the republicans with these groups of people. We can forget all the "they should know" stuff. Get in there and make the argument. Show these disenfranchised groups that your answer to their problem is better than t he dem answer. Show them that if they work hard, they CAN achieve the American dream. They don't believe that...and with failing schools, disproportionate crime stats, and the higher ed bubble, who could blame them?

I really think the best way to reach these groups is via robust education reform. It has to be good and it has to be effective (which probably means giving a lot of power back to the states). No Child Left Behind was a mess, but it at least showed that the republicans were acknowledging and seeking to address a real problem.

You can do that. It doesn't take a presidential candidate to do it. I know you probably don't have time (most Republicans have jobs and this is not our religion), but if we need to do this, it needs to be year-round outreach. In the streets everyday, so that when election time comes around, they have a choice, or at least something to think about. Then when the presidential candidate says the words you've been preaching, it doesn't fall on deaf ears. Right now, they are not hearing a word a Republican is saying. They know right now who they will vote for in 4 years, in 8 years, in 12 years....

    Re: Conspiracy?

If Repubs want the black vote, they'll have to outbid the 'craps for it.

Instead of sending some school bus and paying $20 to go vote, up the antee! Send A/C commercial buses, with free food/drink and pay $30!

Oh wait...they could still push the button for a 'crap. Have to get really serious and promise free everything if Repubs are elected.

On a side note, some years back, I ran into a black woman co-worker at Walmart and she was talking in a group. I heard her say (because she was loud about it): I'm not getting up to go vote for that old fool. Only offering $8 and that being on a Saturday. That man be crazy! [referring to a local runoff election for school board or some such office].

I saw her the following week, after that Saturday election, and asked if she voted. She was livid: Hell no! I wasn't about to go out on Saturday for no $8. No sir, uh uh.

Repubs have to play that game too, if they ever want the black vote.
