No I've been consistant with my complaint on the helmet change. I didn't have a problem with the change appearance until the spokespeople came out and said they did it because they were seeking consistant branding. The state T and the acceptable combinations are the brands Tech settled on as acceptable years ago. The branding excuse is total BS. http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/...CLogoSheet.pdf. Now if they want to be consistant they need to go back and change most everything Dooley did. I bet they won't change the color combos the WBB team uses.

Exactly. Those who say "our logo is a red T with a blue state and a white outline, regardless of the background color" are flat wrong.

According to the official CLC document linked on latechsports.com, the state-T can come in eight different combinations including the white T with the blue state.

Exactly. See Tulane. They use the green T on white backgrounds and the white T on green backgrounds. Then they have a monotone logo.

Why? Because logos stand out more (and thus look better) when there is more color contrast.

It is not uncommon to have different color scheme of a logo. Sometime a white outline is not enough contrast.

And McDaniel who changed the logos from WAC to C-USA on the athletics website couldn't even get the C-USA logo in the correct aspect ratio. The C-USA logo is horizontally compressed on our website.

I don't see what all the panty-twisting is all about! Woo...Tech is going to a uniform State-T logo. Hell, after years of having some of the worst renditions of our logo being used by CBS, FoxSports, etc, haivng one logo that everyone will use is not a bad thing. We went several years with several different shades of blue used, and there was panty-twisting going on when we settled on the one shade for everything ; excluding the women's teams. Back when I was in the equipment room, we toyed with the idea of a red "T" and Blue "State" of course it was pitched on a white helmet, so it went over as well as you can imagin. It was also pitched to have a blue "T" and a white "State" for the red helmet, but that was more of a "look what else we could do" from the decal manufacturer.

Bottom line is that this change does not sit well with everyone, I get it, but to just keep going on-and-on about how this is stupid and it should not be called re-branding sounds assinine to me.

That spot was where the original WAC logo was. We are currently working with CBS on a complete redesign for our site, so there was no need to completely change the available size for the conference affiliation spot for a month.

Everything you list above was pre-Dooley and his branding effort. Some publications and TV stations had not caught on yet. Our SID and some fans were working to help those changes come about. This supposed change will have zero impact on what you've touched on except to cause more confusion.

Someone needs to tell Britton Banowsky about the multiple-color scheme conference logos. It's hurting their brand.
