Can't speak for Tyler, but the California state government system is a sinking ship! Businesses and high earners are fleeing daily to go to states with lower taxes....even Dwight Howard! Even if their schools are great, at some point they're going to lose $$ if they are dependent on state government for them. The well will go dry!

Only about 13% of the UC System's revenues come from state funding, and the state just increased the UC System's budget by 5% for the 2013-14 budget. The UC universities will be just fine.

Janet Napolitano riding a bicycle through campus, NAKED. Oooh - that's a scary thought! Sonny needs to keep his camrea handy. Like the old rock and roll song "Momma Told Me Not To Come", Sonny and his girls are about to see things they "ain't never seen before". As far as the top public universities in the country - I question who does the ratings. Aren't these the same universities who perpetuate the whole "global warming" religion, oops - I mean science.
