I read on Dr. Guice's blog that the family moved into the Ropp Center. Is this permanent, or temporary? When I was at Tech, Dr. Taylor and his wife lived there. Does anyone know the scoop?

I bet they're doing some remodeling/upgrading or something on DR's old home.
Temporary.
I bet it's temporary but it'd be kinda neat if he revived that tradition.
I believe I speak for everyone when I say they are lucky to have such a short walk for Wednesday fried chicken day.

I'm really liking his blog, which, yes, he writes himself.

I too think Dr. Guice's blog is fantastic and temporarily living at the Ropp is just one more action he has taken to help deepen LouisianaTech history and traditions. I can imagine a post on this board someday way in the future entitled, “What Louisiana Tech Presidents Lived in the Ropp Center?” Only those who really know their Tech history will know to include on the list the one who I believe has a chance to go down in history as the undisputed best. Another trait of his that I really like is how he places or assesses value (tradition/history) in our old buildings and looks for the architectural and financial means to save them if possible instead of first electing to knock them down.
Campus offices close at noon Fridays. What did the school president do when it was time to clock out? He put on his jeans, Tech polo, C-USA cap and sneakers and took off for football practice. Yes, you gotta love it.14-Prac5Aug9-2013.jpg12-Prac5Aug9-2013.jpg13-Prac5Aug9-2013.jpg17-Prac5Aug9-2013.jpg

it's too damn hot out there for me to go and watch others practice
Dawgpix - Thanks for those pictures of the BOSS on the practice field. Who can deny his interest in athletics now? He has always spoke of a good balance between athletics and research/academics and it looks like we are already getting it.
Awesome, Dr. Guice!
