He needs to do a little research to update the status of the two basketball programs.
It's time to close the doors to the Temple of Janus.
Now, you see how you do this conference realignment game? You let others (outside your state) do your tooting. LOL!
I can't argue with his choices.

You mean we're going to the Big XII?
Good old Memorial Gym
ALL depends on how much progress we make in the next 4 or 5 years on facilities/game attendance/academics under LG's leadership. Frankly, I think we're the "sleeper" in the bunch. Question is whether we remain "the sleeper" or if our alums step up in some fashion. TMac's leadership in developing "a plan" is most important. That's all I'm going to say on this topic. I want to enjoy the programs over the next couple of years or so, not always arguing about whether we're up or down.
I am afraid you are correct on this and that in itself is flawed. While 'we have arrived' in the case of moving into C-USA, it is not the C-USA we all wanted. That C-USA is now called the 'American something or other'! While that shouldn't be our ultimate goal, it should be our next goal and we should be doing everything we can to get there. The first thing to do is win as many C-USA championships as possible in every sport! If we make ourselves the team in C-USA, we won't be there long! Just ask TCU!
"We have arrived" was said when we got in the WAC.
And then the WAC we arrived in disappeared. But, back in 2001, we had definitely taken a step up. Two national championships in baseball, three BcS bowl appearances, and men's hoops that never quite measured up to the potential, but that was good nonetheless. The WAC had ton and tons of additional potential too. Individual member schools did all they could to destroy that good conference, the WAC of 2001.
This is further proof that LA Tech is more respected outside the state of Louisiana than inside.
LA Tech to the Big XII may not be as farfetched as many of you think. Yeah, LA Tech would have to have a great run over the next 5-10 years to make it plausible, but that's certainly possible. Just because Tech officials mastered the art of underachieving over the last decade doesn't mean it has to continue.
Link posted on RaginPagin.com. Awaiting response. Should be interesting.
When we "arrived" in C-USA it included Houston, SMU, Tulsa, Memphis, Southern Miss, East Carolina, etc. Houston, SMU, Memphis and soon Tulsa will be gone. Instead we have UTSA, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion and James Madison. Very much like the WAC situation with TCU leaving right away to the Big East(oops Mountain West) SMU,and UTEP to C-USA, etc. Can we see a pattern here. I remember when we left the old Gulf States to join the old Southland everybody followed and we got no separation. Perhaps we really need to aim higher. I don't think trying for the old Big East would be much of a step up. Let's just kick ass in C-USA and grow our fan base to fill the Joe and maybe then the Big XII will come calling.
