    Ryan Allen 'Answers the Call

Worcester Telegram & Gazette staff writer Jennifer Toland has a good article about former Louisiana Tech punter Ryan Allen in yesterday's (10/5/2014) paper, saying that he "answers the call" when the New England Patriots falter on offense.

She goes on to use quotes, statistics and information to give insight into his approach to his job in the article written after last week's loss to Kansas City (the Patriots defeated the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday).

I've got a good friend who is a NE Patriots season ticket holder and lives in Boston. One day last year he went into a local dealership to buy a new car, and he ran into Ryan Allen and his mom at the dealership. He said it was weird because here was a guy playing in the NFL, and because he was so young, he still had to have his mother come up to the dealership and "co-sign" the papers to buy the car.

Just another reminder of how young many of our football hero's are.

    Wow haha

It's also odd (but good!) how much relative media attention Allen is getting. He's a punter for crying out loud...no one cares about punters...unless they're fantastically good he's a game changer for sure.

Good point. The same can be said about the young men we send to war all around the globe.
