...for a half game. Huh? NCAA affirms that he didn't take any money for the autographs, but suspends him for a half game, anyway. Um, what rule did he break then?

You didn't expect anything more from the NCAA did you? I thought they might at least try to look tough by suspending him for a whole game, but they have pretty much given up the charade at this point. What a bunch of clowns. I knew they didn't have the stones to revoke the eligibility of a Heisman winner at a BCS school, especially since they have a very hyped game coming with Alabama in just a couple of weeks.
Let this happen at Boise State and see how they respond!
F-ing joke!
Johnny Football isn't the nicest guy ever, but we are to believe that he signed over 4K autographs for one guy to sell on eBay and not get anything in the form of payment? I'm calling bulls**t on that ruling.
Not a slap on the wrist, more like a pat on the butt. I think aTm did the suspesion, not the NCAA. At least that's the way I read it.
So at half, Aggies will be down by 2 touchdowns. They will role the red carpet out for Manziel to enter the game and he throws the game winning touchdown!! The perfect story!
If the Ags are 2 TD's down to Rice at the half, the WE might be in some SERIOUS trouble a few weeks later.
We would have killed A&M last year without Manziel.
They couldn't directly tie anything to Manziel to prove he took the money for the autographs...
And they were afraid to suspend him for anything more that would have brought a suit against them since they are wearing the big collar in the courtroom lately
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Here's the official release.
What a joke.
Bottom line. No evidence. Period.
Just more SEC/BCS bunk....
Johnny Manziel suspended for 30 minutes
I don't understand it. If he took money, he should be suspended for multiple games. 4, the season or all eligibility taken away depending on the specifics. If he didn't do anything wrong, then don't suspend him to make it look like you're not complete wimps. The only two things I can think of are that NCAA is trying to save face or Manziel knew that his friend was taking money. Either way, this looks ridiculous.
