ULM played 2 even quarters with one of the best teams in the nation while Tech lost every single quarter against NC State It's pretty obvious that ULM is better than Tech this year..

The rankings are not based solely on 1 game. Returning players from last season and last season's performance are factored in as well. ULM brought back a lot and they crushed Tulane last year so clearly they should be ranked ahead of Tulane and their win against lowly Jackson State. Tech lost their entire offense which is all they had going so their ranking reflects that. ULM beat Arkansas last year and Arkansas handled ULL so that was the deciding factor there. Rankings will updated weekly so we'll see what happens.
