A US loss at Panama would hurt the US world ranking that was up to #13 last month. A US win would possibly improve the ranking when the new list comes out Thursday.
The top 8 get the main seeds in each pool come draw time, after that all they said is geographical and other considerations will go into it so I would rather screw Mexico and go from there

no you don't purposely dive. they ended up giving up 2 goals in the last 2 minutes to a largely b-team American side. Teams in CONCACAF (other central teams) my not have pushed that hard in the last two minutes in the past, espcially knowing it would screw Mexico, but that has never been our style and definitely not allowed under our current coach.
World Cup Finals draw Pot 1 (top seeds plus hosts)--Brazil (Group A), Spain, Germany, Argentina, Colombia, Belgium, Switzerland.
Uruguay will also be in Pot 1 if it qualifies over Jordan (likely), and the Netherlands would take that spot if Uruguay is upset.
The other qualifying teams to this point not on the Pot 1 list are Australia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, Honduras, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea Republic, the Netherlands, Russia, and USA.
By "Pot 1" you mean the top 8 seeds?
