Man. BPCC sure has made significant gains in the past decade. Doubling LSU-S's enrollment.

I find it quite fitting that LSU-S had that largest decrease in total enrollment and undergraduate enrollment in the state by a wide margin. How about that LSU-Shreveport "Commitment" Plan!

Here's the LSU Shreveport Commitment Plan Status Report - Year One. Go to pages 8 through 23.

    http://www.lsusystem.edu/docs/agenda...a20130726f.pdf

    The highlights are:
    • The Petroleum Engineering (online program) majors increased from 28 in Fall 2012 to 35 in Spring 2013.
    • No information is provided on the number of Construction Management (another online program) majors at LSUS.
    • LSUS and BPCC teamed up to establish offices on each campus (LSUS Outreach Office on BPCC campus, BPCC @ LSUS). No word on LSUS teaming up with SUSLA as proposed in the original commitment plan.

Somewhat related: it was announced last Saturday by the Interim Dean of COES that only approximately 5000 Louisiana high school graduates each year meet our standards.

I have been told the same thing, I believe there were 16,000 "graduates" in total. That is why raiding Texas is critical to the growth and advancement of Tech.

So with this large drop in graduate students are we going to have a problem with maintaining Tier 1 this year?

Nope. They have a separate rankings for specific graduate programs, and those are based purely on peer assessment.

The seemingly precipitous drop in graduate students would be a threat to Tech's RU/H Carnegie classification if they were degree-seeking students in research-rich graduate programs (primarily doctoral); they are not. The "lost" students were almost solely non-paying lifelong learners (basically, continuing education).
