I've never seen
such an inordinate amount of player errors/mistakes at
such untimely times (inside 5-yard line or redzone) in
such a small sample (just 4 games). Mistakes are never desired, obviously; these five examples though have been so glaring because of where they've occurred:
- Dixon fumble going in for TD (NC State)
- King fumble in the redzone on a sure scoring drive (NC State)
- King missed easy pass for walk-in TD (Tulane)
- Higgins fumble going in for TD (Kansas)
- Dixon fumble inside the 5 (Kansas)
((These 5 plays alone left 32 potential points on the field in four games.))
I think there are more legitimate explanations than "bad juju", "bad karma", or even youth. When does this trend (along with many other player errors) point directly at the coaches? Or do we just chalk it up solely to player mistakes at really inopportune times.
I mean, seriously. One could argue that we could be 4-0, instead we're sitting nasty at 1-3.
