McCain’s passing is sad. A hero and public servant. A guy who made mistakes and worked to overcome them. A guy committed to his causes but respectful of those that disagreed with him. A guy that understood the privilege and honor it was to be a representative of the people. There is not one person alive that couldn’t become a little bit better by trying to be a bit more like John McCain.

I think it would be great if they pass Schumer’s resolution and rename the Senate Office Building after him.

Everyone respects the bravery he exhibited during his war service, but in the end, John McCain proved to be as big a part of the DC establishment as anyone. I do think he was taken advantage of when by Comey when he was already in a diminished mental state. Anyway, may he rest in peace.

Arizona law requires that the governor (currently a Republican) appoint a replacement from the deceased senator's party. That likely means someone who will vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh. The timing of McCain's death couldn't be worse for Democrats, as McCain was not going to be able to vote. It's another kick to the gut for their chances of stopping Kavanaugh's confirmation.
