For those that asked earlier in the thread, the Governor appointed former Senator John Kyl to serve out McCain's term until the 2020 election.

Just read (quickly) thru his bio, and he seems okay to me. At least at first glance. Let's hope he pans out.

He has also said the only office he will run for is Vice President of the US, if asked by someone to be their running mate. Means he will not seek to fill McCain's seat on some permanent basis. He is retired, he says.
