It's a little odd that they would release him after trading a draft pick for him just a few weeks ago. But, knowing Pete Carroll, it could be some kind of scheme to get his pick back.

Saints could use him.
claimed off waivers by the Lions as depth behind Suh and Fairley
Suh may not be there much longer.
The NY Giants cut Matt Broha from their practice squad.
That's because the OL wasn't holding him. If they would have just grabbed his jersey, kind of yanked it over his head and off his shoulder pads, then Broha would been in familiar territory, like he was when playing here.
But, that's okay, the NY Midgets suck and Matt will land on a winning team somewhere else.
I think the Saints could use Broha more than Smith, actually. I wonder if they will take a look at him.
If you follow this link and read the comments below, it explains why he was released. This was a move by Pete Carroll to get his pick back, since Smith didn't play in at least 8 games with the Seahawks.
So, the Jags essentially gave away a defensive lineman and got nothing in return because of old Slick Pete. The Seahawks got two games out of D'Anthony and now the Lions get a reliable backup to Suh and Fairley. Jacksonville gets nothing, after being the sole owner of the main bargaining chip in this deal. No wonder they are last in the league. Now they won't even have the pick next year to rebuild the roster with.
I hope Scobee can find a new home soon.
and broha find a team
Just saw where the Lions signed Kevin Ogletree and cut D'Anthony Smith.
