    Which is not an official name used by either institution outside of Georgia Tech's web address.

    Also, they have it as VA TECH and GA TECH.

    Living here in Abilene Texas, it simplifies things when I just say I'm a Louisiana Tech Alum to not confuse the Texas Tech folks. No LA TECH, La TECH, La Tech, or LA Tech. Just Louisiana Tech! Unlike the ULLLLLLL imposters that will make up a name to aggrandize their agenda.

    It's about the pronunciation. Our admin is using the two-letter postal code LA, which is pronounced El Ay. That pronunciation is synonymous with Los Angeles.

    We became "Lah" Tech (our admin's desired pronunciation) because the media has been using the abbreviation "La. Tech" for probably 90 years.

    And yes, branding does matter, and we are doing a very poor job of it.
