Roughly half the coaches on that list could probably not be replaced by superior coaches if they were fired. Within the last few years, two of them fired the best coach they are likely to have in a long time. It's kind of an odd list.
University of Houston '01. Any references to "we" or "us" likely refer to UH. Cheers!
I had Nebraska on my list, but not Texas. Texas is one of the best jobs in college football and Mack Brown is a great recruiter but doesn't seem to know what to do with them and doesn't seem to be great at finding people that do know what to do with them.
Also on the list: Akron has a national championship coach. Who would want to coach at Eastern Michigan? Kansas is turning into a career-killer. Why would the next Cristobal want to coach at Florida International? Indiana's on its fourth coach in a decade. I'll admit that the last two are iffy. And Mark Mangino would be an improvement at most of the schools on that list (excluding Nebraska and Akron).

Article on some big name schools that could be looking for new coaches after the season (and of course, starting the domino effect).

Look, this has nothing to do with Alabama’s success as a ground and pound team, and Muschamp trying to duplicate his mentor’s blueprint in Gainesville. This has everything to do with what has been successful at Florida for decades — and playing to your recruiting core.
Steve Spurrier started it with the Fun ‘N Gun in the 1990s and won a national title, and Urban Meyer brought the spread to Gainesville in the 2000s and won two more national titles. If it works to spread the field and use speed and athletic ability to win games, stick with it.
