    A question....

When obummercare is fully implemented (just gonna give 'em the benefit of the doubt for sake of argument), everyone, and I mean EVERYONE!, will have healthcare insurance. So....will Medicare and Medicaid be defunded and go away?

Health insurance companies will go away. Then the government will "rescue us" by taking over the health care industry completely.

    Re: A question....

I predict it will take doctors forever to collect on ACA patients. If it is a longer waiting period than already exists for Medicaid/Medicare patients then many won't accept it. A lack of clinics and doctors willing to work with the new system will cause it to fail. However, it may be too late. We will have poured a ton of money down the drain, the cost of private coverage will rise uncontrolled until we can't afford that either. Washington will soar in to save us with a system that costs everyone higher taxes. Doctors offices will start taking cash only and everyone else will be sitting in he ER with a runny nose. Wait......... Isn't that kinda happening now????

    JMHO.

Yep, I think this is a pretty accurate picture.

I see reimbursements to employers taking as long as 90 days (maybe longer) to receive. More taxation on the taxation.

You probably know, but this was never intended to replace Medicare. We were and are still being told that those on Medicaid would be included in the new plan, but no it won't go away either.

Medicare will naturally shrink and require fewer and fewer doctors as there will be fewer and fewer old people; this will occur as the death panels' regulations are phased in. The massive reduction in the number of old people will make the social security program workable and might even provide surplus monies to fund other social programs.

Yes, it is very important that we get our life expectancy numbers back down in line with these other countries who have crappy health care.

Death panels? I thought Palin was roundly ridiculed by the left for suggesting that. You mean she was right?

At the risk of sounding like a doomsday-er...as bad as some if you think it will be, it will be much worse. If you are in the industry you can see that the parts that have been wearing out for decades are cracking and breaking. Even many in the industry, who understand what is happening beyond what just consumers understand, are in "deer in headlights" mode. Consumers see the dark cloud. Industry experts see the time bomb clouded behind. The lack of 1)common sense and 2)the ability to do math are dumbfounding to me.

It's the same cliff...just pressing the accelerator to the floor.

It's just not the same country it was 30 years ago. It's going to take the failures of socialism to wake the people up, but at that point it will probably be too late. Re-electing Obama was insane.
