Re: A question....
So the answer is, no, Medicare & Medicaid won't go away, which together with SSI, accounts for $118 billion annually in the federal budget. By far the largest cost item. So, someone tell me again the benefits of obummercare. A new gangly, out-of-control costly federal program that does NOT solve the problem it was created for. In other words, business as usual in DC.
I am usually not a violent person, but something about the French Revolution is calling to us....

Re: A question....
Medicare and Medicaid will eventually go way. Obamacare is a system designed to bankrupt private health insurance companies so the government can take it over when the crisis comes (I don't know how long that will take).
Everyone had a right to home ownership and the mortgage industry collapsed. The government takes control of the banks (kind of). Now everyone has to have health insurance and the health industry will collapse. The government will be "forced" to "rescue" us from those corrupt companies.
It's like Reagan said, "Government doesn't solve problems, government is the problem."

Re: A question....
So after yesterday, when Quineesha walks in my office and asks for an ACA (Obamacare) quote, I must have proof of income to calculate her subsidy. This assuming we can ever log on to Healthcare.gov. Thank you GOP for fighting so hard for us.

Re: A question....
Within the pages and pages written to explain the law, it was stated that in order to be an eligible policy, the deductible could be no more than $2,000. For the 5,000 or so that have actually been able to sign up, the premiums are higher and the deductibles are $6,000-$8,000. Insurance companies showed them there was no way they could make them lower and stay in business.
Higher premiums and higher deductibles for low risk, low utilizers.
