Re: SEC deals blow to Banowky's plans

For a few of us, it doesn't really matter where the tournament is held as we will be there wherever it is. However, Birmingham or Charlotte would be my favorite places. The DFW area would be my 3rd choice. Tennessee or Virginia wouldn't be bad, either. Due to attendance considerations, I expect we'll be headed back to El Paso.

The 2014 C-USA tournament will be held in El Paso March 11th - March 14th. That is a 12 hr 45 minute drive from Ruston, or a quick, cheap flight on Southwest out of Dallas or Houston. Other airlines serving El Paso include American, Delta, and US Air.

It would be great to have more than 300 fans at tournament to support our teams. Last year in Vegas we had a slightly larger turnout from earlier years but there were less than 100 Tech fans there, not counting the Hoop Troop and cheerleaders. Start making your plans and saving your quarters.

    Such a weird venue.

"Its lot was previously occupied by a shopping mall called Downtown Mall. When the mall closed in 1990 The arena was retrofitted from the old building." - wiki

I like it - they turned one of our old malls into a Church!

Yea, really weird. and not easy to get to. but its right in the middle of all the non-Texas schools.

Maybe we could steal Hot Springs from the Sun Belt and really go for the small town feel. at least Teemo would be happy.

Why not New Orleans??? I know Tulame is moving on, but USM, Rice and LA Tech are nearby, and New Orleans is easily accessible for most CUSA member schools.

Sun Belt has Lakefront Arena booked:
    MBB March 13-16 2014
    WBB March 12-15 2014

I think it would be great if we can get New Orleans Arena.
