This was a lot of fun. An exhibition, yea, but UAM always plays hard.

However - me and my group of friends were told by the event staff to "sit down so people could see." At a hoops game? I'm offended! THIS is why we can't have nice things, Ruston!! Sit somewhere else with the people who ARENT into the game then, sorry. I came to cheer on the Dawgs, not watch freakin golf. You wanna know why we have attendance problems?!

BECAUSE WE HAMSTRING THE FANS WE HAVE.

Actually, the sight lines are horrible. People standing made it much much worse, even when I stood. I got to see a half of basketball in Memorial. Cool. I don't need to see another one.

If we shoot a better percentage the team will blow people out, based on just the first half I saw.

I will be glad to be back in my comfortable seats come Monday night -

It was kind of neat for the first 10 minutes and then you realize how good we have it with the TAC

The staff did a good job having the old place ready for basketball - dogs, candy, water and cold drinks - might of been 1,000 people in the place when I got there halfway through the first half

Sound is really, really bad - even with the Hoop Troop

Like I said - it was a nice trip down memory lane for a few minutes

Team worked well together. It didn't seem like they were trying terribly hard - when they tried, they CLICKED and it was scary. We are gonna turn a lot of heads this year.

I don't like the deep twos we pulled up sporadically. We need to keep attacking the basket and finding dump offs to Kyser. Team looked like I expected. Maybe a little less aggressive on defense.

Re: M. Basketball. Bulldog Basketball Set for First Exhibition Game

I still have memories of seeing some great basketball games in Memorial Gym, but last night's game reminded me of how happy I was about 30 years ago when we began playing basketball in the TAC. The TAC experience for the fan is so much better.

Our offense is fueled by our defensive intensity. When we get after it defensively, we looked good! When we tried to run sets, we were stagnant. Need to play alot of guys with tempo--all the time, imo!

No, sitting on the first row of the bleachers with Roy Ebron staring you down just five feet away is a memory that can't be duplicated in the TAC.

Problem is they only go 9 deep right now. Have to get Gibby in shape so he can give them a few minutes.

I've had the Roy Ebron staredown experience in Memorial Gym and from a greater distance at Blackham Coliseum. I have great memories of sitting courtside on the Memorial Gym bleachers as a young college student. That's why we need courtside seating for students at the TAC. It will create some great memories and we will have long time fans.

However, now I want easy parking, the comfort of a chairback, an easily accessible restroom, and a nearby efficient concession stand. I've got all that in the TAC, plus from my seats I have the benefit of being able to see, hear, and sometimes smell the game. Last year, I was face to face with Sim Bhullar - NMSU's gentle giant. Not the same as a Roy Ebron staredown, but still a memorable experience.

To sum it up, I'm old so let me have my TAC.

Lets work Leo Edwards into the lineup. He looked a little lost at times but that dude is long.. If he can play the 4 w/ Kyser or Massey at the 5 we will rip down tons of boards..

We still have no low post scoring and that will be a problem at times during the year.
