Serious question. You guys were ranked and on a BCS run last year.

Simple answer is a very fragile fan base with a die hard group of 13-15,000 that will only miss a game for a funeral or wedding. We get a fringe group of fans of 7-8,000 based on success. Have not had a long enough string of success to get our core group above 20,000. When we do that, we will sell out. As a lifetime fan, I dream of that day.
And finally -- Ruston is a small town in a remote area.
When you calculate average football attendance as a function of surrounding population, we actually do pretty well.
Because we never play any BCS schools at home, EVER!
Except Mississippi State in 2008
Slight tangent on the thread, but is that a good measure for the success of T Mac? I think it should be a major focus of his to get a big game here every other or every third year. Might help us avoid so many body bag games in the future. I know you need those, but maybe we can negotiate the price of 2 money games down some in exchange for a third game at home.
If people would quit being stuck up other teams rear then they could enjoy a game they they could actually attend without spending a leg or arm lol
