While I admire the spirit of the teacher, that letter is atrocious. Bull Dogs?!? "I hope you can accomplishED...," "it's TO far." Also, it is proper English grammar to capitalize "louisiana tech."

Sorry for the venting. Carry on. The educated middle aged man rant is over now.

I get your point, but if the teacher is working with English as a Second Language learners in an elementary setting, that is an age appropriate and pretty good letter.

What's to kid? Those kids will be lucky to get out of middle school with a teacher that uses that kind of English. They certainly wouldn't be admitted into LaTech if their application looks like the letter from that teacher.

Honest question, do you work with elementary students?

Seriously, that letter looks like it was probably written by one of the elementary school students, and I assume it is. Either way, what does it matter to YOU? I guess there always has to be somebody who is going to be "that guy" and congrats, it is you today

In a way, yes. All three of my children are in elementary/middle school. And if they had a teacher with that bad a grasp of the English language, I would be at the principal's office to discuss it. There is no way those kids will have a working knowledge of English when they leave that teacher's classroom. I really expected better from Texas

So you know the teacher wrote this? You know the story behind this letter? From the context it could have been one of OUR football players writing to the class. Fact of the matter is I seriously doubt you know who wrote this and you are just making blind assumptions, something about as stupid looking as the grammar in that letter.

Honestly, I'm just glad my kids don't go to a school where the teacher abuses the English language that way. Other than that... carry on. Keep talking about how awesome it is. But if that teacher was flying a ULL or LSU flag, the first thing people would have mocked on this board would have been her poor grasp of grammar. Either way, you're right. I'm "That Guy." LOL.

This is one of those situations where if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Get a clue man.
