LaTech Ryan Allen tonight vs. Broncos

On his 6th punt of the night Ryan Allen's high punt nails him a loose Bronco! Free Ball recovered by Pats. (Wes Welker refused to fair catch)

Couple of plays later Patriots win on field goal . . . Ryan Allen is the holder.

Ryan Allen 6 for total of 267 yds ( 44.5 yds.) with 1 touchback and 2 inside the 20. 52 yards was his longest.

The Broncos (Trindon Holliday) also muffed another Allen punt earlier in the game that the Pats recovered.

In the first half Ryan did a great job just catching the snap as it sliced about five feet down and to his left in that heavy wind.

    Excellent game by Ryan!

Yep, I saw that. Allen definitely did his job! Allen, kicks with his left foot, which puts a different spin on the ball, and gave the Broncos fits while trying to catch his punts. I wanted the Broncos to win; but, if the Patriots win was caused in part by a former LA TECH player...then that is ok. Allen was the holder for the Patriots winning field goal.

Not to be contentious, but has this really been proven? What does kicking with your left foot vs. right foot have to do with it? Why would it be harder to catch even if it did?
Ryan is a weapon, and would be even if he was a right footed kicker. The man is phenomenal.

Yeah it has - Collinsworth last night commented on it and how he literally despised having to be the return man against left footed punters, especially in the wind due to the reverse spin on the football...

Not if you have ever had to catch a ball punted by a left footed kicker.

… and Collingsworth was a very good return man.
