    M. Basketball. Bulldogs Bring Home Gulf Coast Showcase Championship

A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

It was a back and forth battle as both Louisiana Tech and St. Bonaventure wanted the title of being the inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase champions, but the Bulldogs used stifling defense and clutch free throw shooting down the stretch to take it, 76-72, on Wednesday night inside the Germain Arena.

I hope we play in this Gulf Coast Showcase again next year. We will have 5 Florida kids on the roster next year and this will definitely help recruit more of them as well as give us more exposure in general in the southeast.

No tournament in Fort Myers until 4 more years because of NCAA 1 in 4 rule.

We are hosting a Coaches vs. Cancer Classic subregional in Ruston next year. The format will be a 4-team round robin (3 games in 3 days) of teams from outside of the big money conferences. Before that, we'll start the season with one televised road game against an anchor host from a big money conference.

I don't know. We'll probably find out the 4 hosts relatively soon (where we will play our road game). I think it will probably be a while (late summer) before we find out the 3 teams that we sub-host.

There are 36 teams that we can rule out though:
    - 2012 hosts (Notre Dame, Florida State, BYU, Saint Joseph's)
    - 2012 sub-hosts (Evansville, Georgia State)
    - 2012 visitors (Tennessee State, South Alabama, Yale, Buffalo, Western Illinois, Monmouth)
    - 2013 hosts (Michigan State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Seton Hall)
    - 2013 sub-hosts (Portland, Kent State)
    - 2013 visitors (Columbia, Idaho, Niagara, North Texas, USC Upstate, Western Carolina)
    - Plus the other 12 C-USA teams
