That's pretty cool. I wasn't born until 72, so I missed that play. But, I was in the Dome for this play and it is also a great memory.

Yep! a magical beginning to the Saints' march to greatness. A simple play, on the surface, still early in that game and the Dirty Birds big favorites that night. Surely, it wouldn't matter and the Birdies would ultimately prevail. But, they didn't and the Saints rode the momentum of that play....all of Who Dat Nation believed! A city on the rebound post-Katrina.
With the city still flooded days after Katrina passed, a reporter from a national network was in a small boat and happened across an older fellow wading hip-deep in yucky water, searching for his belongings near his flooded house. The reporter asked obvious questions, What will you do now? How will you, and the city, recover? The fellow put on a brave face and answered with faith and determination.
Behind him, the whole time, in the shot was a billboard, mostly unscathed. It was a sign advertising Saints' season tickets (for that 2005 season). The fellow waved his hand and turned to survey the wreckage and his eye caught the billboard. He smiled and said to that reporter, Well, at least we still have our Saints!
Not a flippant remark. He was dead serious. Everything was still okay as long as New Orleans has her beloved Saints.

Saints went 2-12 that year, that win over the Lions, and we beat the Giants 14-10. That was it. But it was all worth it, the season tix, seeing the losses, etc... just to be there for that magical moment.

I remember that. Wow! our very own Tyler a little Cub Scout at a Saints game. Kewl!
