Russia, the host for the 2014 Winter Olympics that start in about 3 weeks, has anti-homosexual laws that has made it free reign to beat, arrest, kill, et al. someone for being a homosexual.
There are a fair number of athletes that are homosexual. All athletes already had to worry about Chechen and Dagestani terrorist (both Islamic), but some have to also worry about the Russian authorities themselves. It is Russia. Trusting them at their word - when not bribed to do so - would be a mistake.

That is why Russia, homosexuality, and the Olympics are being talked about.

You won't see it, if you only watch Fox news, so don't be too hard on him. Fact is that there are a LOT of Americans extremely concerned about our many many Gay athletes headed to Russia. Putin has taken Russia to almost back to Germany putting Gay persons in concentration camps, while the rest of the world is moving forward on Gay rights - many at a faster pace than the U.S.

What confuses me is when activists characterize something that is not legal as a "right." I find that misleading, dishonest, and counter productive to their "cause," on many manufactured 'issues."
