The stupidest part (after all the lying) was not opening the bottom section for general admission. Pack that crap out! Would have made the arena look way more full.
It was voodoo accounting. They got businesses to buy down the ticket price, then other businesses to buy the cheap tickets to give away. Then they crowed that it was a sellout. Only problem was not many people cared enough to attend. It was a sellout alright. How will they spin that sellout crowd on Bayou Sports Talk? Just once will they call out ULM? Nope.

It's like watching a toddler try to do everything his much older brother does. You know the toddler is going to fail miserably to keep up with big brother, but it's really cute watching the toddler try. That might explain the fascination with UL-Monroe.
The game atmosphere was really lame. Awful band, bad sound system, pitiful crowd participation. I could literally hear everything Mike White was saying to the team from my seats. I wanted to greet Coach Richard, but I felt ashamed.

Pathetic joke of an institution, and athletics department. You would honest-to-God rather lie and mislead not just the visiting team's fans to suppress their attendance, but you'd forgo OUR fans' money to YOUR coffers to prevent a partisan Tech crowd.
I think I finally get why they're almost ALL lsu fans. When the integrity is out the window, there's really noithing to support. I hope we never agree to play them in anything ever again. There is no "rivalry" and there hasn't been one in 20 years.

Doesn't get ULMs situation. That game was never going to sell out. Doesn't get why we won't play them. A sellout in Monroe, assuming it was, does nothing to make us want to play. Bogus claims make any dealings with little brother even less attractive. Tech fans want to know what's in it for us.

Brian Wickstrom is a clueless idiot. He wasn't trying to suppress the Tech turnout. That clown actually thought it was going to be sellout.
Not only that, he was convinced that this "sellout" would lead to the renewal of the football series.
Wickstrom already proved his cluelessness in his introductory press conference when he said he was going to schedule Tech in football.
This guy doesn't get it. ULM has no fan base anymore. There is no rivalry anymore. It's dead, and it's never coming back. I hope we never schedule ULM again in any sport so we don't ever have to deal with the drama that ULM and the local media created over the last two weeks. It was ridiculous, and I'm so glad we can finally move on.
What an epic failure by ULM.
