Is it just me or I don't have a lot respect for these early commitments, who turn around and decommit. I get it, early commitments are not binding, so what purpose do they serve.

When a decommit occurs the players ego is the purpose being served. Some of them crave the attention and not getting any attention while some of their peers are being chased is more than many can take.Originally Posted by TechFanno1

He had already made he decision. That's what the whole "commitment" thing is about. If he changes his mind it was never a commitment.
He probably heard Skip has been courting Neville's Hootie Jones, so he wants to keep his options open.

I have had a running discussion with folks who believe "stars" mean nothing. Donovan is a 3 star recruit with offers from "minor" colleges. When you look at who is committing and see nothing but 2 stars beside everyone, its easy to want to be part of higher rated recruiting class. Success breeds success. If the feedback he is getting from friends is half as negative as BBB, no wonder he decommitted. I personally hope recruits never come to BBB, if they did, why woukd they come to Tech--- so much derision of the coach and program on its football website. Merry Christmas

I dont blame him one bit. The difference between him and I is that i would have never committed to a holtz program in the first place.
Yeah, but he committed only a few days ago, he should have had a pretty good idea at that point.
Hopefully any potential recruits will take your advice. Thanks for advice. ULL would be better fit, being in Lafayette you know the food is better ( best food in world).
I would take a gray shirt at LSU over a full ride at Tech. TCU would be my 2nd choice, then Tech over Utah because I wouldn't want to be that far away.
