I will have to try to catch this one on the OU Site, I guess. Any word of television?
OU is 11-1 and is going to be tough! I looked at their schedule, though, and there are no mega wins. Plus, they have some VERY close contests with UT Arlington, Tulsa, and a few others.
What is their strength? Anyone know much about them? Are they a speedy team like us or have a big man inside and play slower ball? I have not seen them play one time and don't know what to expect.
Their strength is the conference they play in. Big XII mens basketball is very, very good. Top to bottom.....I would suggest that if it's not the best basketball conference in the country, it's at least in the top 3. Between Kansas, Baylor, OU, OSU, K State, W VA, Iowa St, etc.... it's easy to find an arse whooping in that conference.

Haven't seen them play, but they have 5 guys scoring in double figures and 4 of them are listed as guards.
Leading scorer is Clark, a 6'7" guard.
Only big they have scoring in double figures is Spangler, a 6"8" 232 pound Sophomore.
They have a big guy listed that has not played and is apparently is transferring after this semester. They appear on paper to be very similar to us and what we saw in Oklahoma State. They are Guard oriented with no true big. Hit our free throws, get some good minutes out of Massey and keep Mike out of foul trouble and we should have a decent chance.
Thus far, we have been a statistically better defensive team.
We are basically even in rebounds with Oklahoma with us having an insignificant edge. However, we average over 2 more steals and 2 more blocks per game.
Not surprisingly, we lead CUSA in those two categories.
Offensively, our average assists and turnovers per game are dead even, but they are scoring at a slightly higher clip.

I like the fact that they are similar. We can't blow it like we did at OSU and get down too early, though. If we hang with them and get a lead, I like our chances!

6 Tech grads and longtime friends are meeting in Norman for the game. My wife and I are driving to Tulsa Sunday afternoon to spend the night with friends and then on to Norman Monday for the game. After spending the night in Norman, we will drive home Tuesday.
For those who already have tickets: What section are you in?
StubHub had some really cheap seats this morning so I'd like to know what section as well before I get my seats, since this is the closest the dawgs will get to playing in the DFW......unless there's a miracle run to the Final Four that is
Rice and UTSA are drivable games from Dallas.
On Tuesday, Dec. 17th vs. UTA the estimated OU home crowd was 3,105. With school out, a weeknight game, and OU football playing Alabama in the Sugar Bowl two nights later, a small crowd seems likely.
The arena has a seating capacity of 12,000 for basketball. Some arenas have ushers who enforce ticket locations, but others allow you to sit anywhere there's an open seat. Cheap seats from StubHub will probably be a good idea. It's worked for me many times.
We're staying at the Embassy that night. Haven't bought tix yet though.
