Last I looked, FAU had a lower RPI rating than Longwood. I hope we beat them with the same ease that we did Longwood. Looking forward to it. Hopefully crowd will be better. Students will be back so that's a plus.
Bump, game is tomorrow!
Here's what my crack research has shown me:
They have played much better than Longwood as a whole. They seem to be a better team.
They have some decent losses: 3 point loss @ Boston College, 11 point loss @ DePaul, and 4 point loss @ Maryland.
They also have some bad, bad losses: 33 point loss @ Detroit, and a 2 point loss @Stetson.
They have one good win against UCF.
Their highest scorer is a guard, so when I see that, I think we will be ok as a whole. I trust the defense from our really good guard play.
That concludes my crack research. We win, but I think 15-25 is a good number to win by against FAU.
A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:
After spending 12 seasons in the Western Athletic Conference, the Louisiana Tech men's basketball team ended it with a regular season championship. Now a member of Conference USA, the Bulldogs quest for a second consecutive title begins Thursday at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center versus Florida Atlantic.

I'll take a win -
Folks - games like the Longwood game don't happen very often - we haven't won EXHIBITION games by those numbers before.
We played Longwood in Paul Millsaps last year and only won by 11 or 12 and that was a very good TECH team
I've watched and followed Tech basketball along time and that just don't happen very often
A 30pt win every so often is rare enough. I can remember one or two 40 pt wins
But 70+that was a FREAKISHLY good night
I've watched Tech basketball a long time
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
Then playing at home, I say we win by 17+.
Scorecenter shows us as a 19 pt favorite.
KenPom has us winning 78-62 with a 94% win probability.
Ill be taking the kids tonight. How refreshing to be excited about tech sports.
