How is that the managers fault? Pitching gets tougher with RISP.

Next, if Sim THINKS a player can play, no matter what the stats show or what his coaches may suggest to him, he will play that person. I think he does this just to try and prove himself right. He just doesn't manage the players he has.

I've watched Tech baseball for many years and I never like to second guess any coach, but things Sim does defy logic. While sometimes going with your gut may work, baseball is still a numbers game. He does not know how to coach at this level.
Exactly. Do you think he promises playing time to get some people to come? But he is a terrible evaluator of talent and that's the bottom line because he certainly doesn't develop players.

In fairness, probably a trip to the Super Regionals should do it. However, I am with you and say anything less than the CWS and it is goodbye Sir. I would even go so far as to say a win or two in the CWS would be required.

Again, the man can defy logic. If he is making promises to players, that is pretty stupid. A coach should NEVER let a player dictate when and how much he plays. You may be most accurate on saying that he is a terrible evaluator of talent. He THINKS he knows all, sees all...and now he is hearing all.

I will give one thing to Sim since he has came to Tech, he has developed the facilities a great amount which many of you have stated. This has been great for the program and should allow for the staff to go out and get better recruits. I don't know if he can't develop the kids once they get on campus or if they are just simply satisfied with being a Division 1 athlete. If the kids are satisfied with being D1 then that still goes back into recruiting because only true competitors should be recruited regardless of talent. Sim should have gotten rid of Rountree a long time ago and hired a recruiting coordinator that was a go-getter and it could have possibly made up for some of the lack of coaching. He chose not to do that and at the end of the day its going to be costly. Sim is a great guy, but with TM as the new AD it doesn't seem like that is going to cut it anymore and rightfully so. Hopefully the Dawgs can turn it around starting tomorrow night and get this train rolling. Lets go Dawgs!!

Sim has over stayed his welcome! And any of you that think otherwise might as well milk the same cow that he has.

I couldn't disagree more bulldog1962.... Anyone can do fundraiser and be friendly to people to get them to donate and improve facilities. We need a coach, sim became the one that was complacent when he got here. We need a coach that's hungry to prove something. All you have to do is sit at the games find a former player and they will be the first to tell you he has no fire, and will let things slide especially if you're a "chosen one"

Very well said! Sim's teams continue to have losing seasons because he just can't play the best on any given day. I think the players could make a MUCH better lineup than the BS he puts together. I'm tired of watching him "play" with the lineups.

Well said, but it is more difficult than you think to be successful at raising money. Try selling girl scout cookies, a little more difficult than you think. I guess the "chosen one's" better start producing or this season is really gonna get out of hand. Who would yall say are some of the chosen ones on this year's team?

The College World Series? This team couldn't win the Little League World Series. Sim is done.

...or drink the same Kool-Aid. Look for his replacement to be very young and have Lasorda, Martin, Valentine, or some such last name and be from the SEC tree.

Even a 23 year old Coach's Kid would have to be an improvement. At least we still have Charlotte...I say send Sim to the house and let the seniors coach and we would have a better chance of winning.

I think it would be tough for anyone to win on a consistent basis is Ruston....heck, even big money schools have the partial scholarship problems.
ULL is ranked 7th in the country right now and has consistently been a good baseball program over the same period of time Simoneaux has been in Ruston.

They have a total athletic budget LESS than ours. Receive less in donations to their athletic fund and receive less in total conference distributions.

Please stop with the budget crap.

Simoneaux has killed a once proud program.
