Maybe cut him loose during the break after the NSU game? BTW, why do we have such a long break?

Edit: Two breaks. We have a 9 day break, then another 10 day break.

I think you are looking at the home schedule only. I don't see more than a 5-day break.

I lost interest in our baseball program and never finished the schedule in that thread. Sorry.

As if anybody other than family and friends of the baseball players still has any interest left in Sim's baseball program. Even the Carlisle kids quit, and Hodo chose to go watch UTA vs. U-La-La over watching Tech baseball. At this point, who cares?

After all is said and done, what we got from his tenure is far nicer facilities. At least for that, I am grateful.

Unlike most of you, I do like Wade. His son and my son played high school ball together. We would talk at the games. He does know the game. Who knows why he hasn't been successful in managing the team. I did want him to succeed, and I knew of that bias, which is why I've remained silent so long. I was praying for a miracle.

Being in the center of a wealth of baseball talent, you would think that eventually we would have a decent year.

I don't like firing coaches during the season unless something illegal is going on, which is not the case. It only hurts the team and players during the season. I assume he is going to be let go but I hope they let him finish the season. There are no potential replacements on staff so no need for an "audition".

But you want to give the players every opportunity to play in postseason -

Sometimes, though rarely a change propels teams upward - when you are playing like they are playing, it does no one any good not to consider all possibilities

And by giving the individual on staff a chance to serve as interim - you may impact his career in a positive manner by giving him experience he might of not had in any other situation

Firing a crappy coach during the season sends a message that losing is not tolerated....

Well....in this case....that should have been done 10 years ago. Still, we can make the case it's a new day in Tech athletics and starting now, today! losing will not be tolerated.

Problem with simply not renewing a contract after the season is over is it doesn't have the same impact. It'll be done quietly, and not garner enough attention. Fire his sorry ass now! Send him packing now!

    But, that's just me....

We're down so far, the bottom looks like up. Hope something happens quickly after the season. Don't think it will happen any sooner.
