Well when you put it like that.
I guess the saying "ignorance is bliss" should apply to your comment.
I am not a hater of the coach. I just hate seeing my alma mater's once proud Lady Techster basketball program sink to the depths that it is currently at. I realize the landscape has changed and Tech will likely never achieve the status it once had. But I also have enough common sense to know that this program is not going to get any better under the current head coach. In fact, it is likely to get worse.
I must admit that I do hate seeing a number of you get overly excited about scraping by two bad teams in the first two rounds of this tournament. In the past, we would not have raised an eyebrow as we demolished team of this caliber in the early rounds. Your behavior is a symptom of how far the program has fallen.
The only justification I see for keeping the current head coach is that I think she is less deserving of being fired than the so-called coach of the baseball program. For him to still be the head coach after his pathetic record over the past decade is unexplainable. Coach TSpoon has not reached the level of sorry that he has taken the baseball program, but if given enough time, it is a safe bet she would.
Two C-USA Tournament wins over questionable opposition can't dress up this season no matter how you look at it. A win against a questionable UTEP team would be in the same category.
Just a matter of time until this season ends considering that Tech played only seven players yesterday. If the gas tank doesn't run dry in the second half coming up, then it almost certainly will for anyone who tunes into CBSSN to watch it early tomorrow afternoon.
And I would argue that Simoneaux (who does deserve to be gone based strictly on on-field results) deserves to be gone less than Weatherspoon if you base it on ticket sales and fan support. WBB ticket sales have fallen over the edge of the cliff and will continue to fall if there isn't a coaching change. At least baseball crowd support has remained steady if not improved.
I don't see how she will be allowed to remain here another season...The program needs a cleaning from top to bottom, period!
